On the left of Porthtowan beach is a beautiful cove called Lushington Beach which is only easily accessible when the tide is out. This results in a need to be aware of the approaching tide, time is elluded to by the use of the darkened section on the left. The joy of the beach is that every day it is washed clean and becomes a blank canvas.
